Help to Rebuild a Handbell Program Last month we asked that you contact us if you know of churches affected by Hurricane Katrina that could use assistance in rebuilding their handbell programs. We heard from First United Methodist Church in Slidell, Louisiana. In addition to rebuilding their sanctuary, this church is basically starting from scratch in terms of handbell materials. They have provided us with the following wish-list:
If you could supply any of these materials to this church in need, please send what you can to the address below (the AGEHR national office), and we will forward supplies to the First United Methodist Church. Please send donated materials to: Looking for a new table cover, or handbell trinkets and charms? Want to read the first handbell fiction novel? AGEHR Seeking Database/Web Site Coordinator We are sad to announce that Kim Westendorf, AGEHR's Website Coordinator for the last five years, will be leaving AGEHR at end of September. We have been spoiled by having an in-house web and computer guru, editor, and friend like Kim. In addition to her website work, Kim created our E-Notes newsletter and assisted in the creation of the Area III RingTouch newsletter. We are so thankful for all she's done for the Guild and wish her the best in this next chapter of her life. You can drop her a line to wish her well at webmaster@agehr.org. This brings us to our next topic: AGEHR is seeking a part-time Database & Web Site Coordinator for our national office. If you are within commuting distance of Dayton, Ohio, and are interested in the position, you can find more details on our website: www.agehr.org/AboutFiles/jobpost.asp The new members for August are listed on the website at www.agehr.org/aboutfiles/newmembers.asp (see the link on our homepage). Please join us in welcoming them to the Guild. Guild Store Special of the Month AGEHR is pleased to offer R-200 Developing Conducting Skills (Keller) as our special of the month. Providing educational reference material for conductors of handbell choirs, this little book is especially helpful to the new conductor but also offers exercises and specific assignments that could certainly prove helpful to an experienced director as well.
Sincerely, |
