PLEASE NOTE: ALL INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THIS PAGE IS BASED ON MATERIALS PROVIDED BY THE HANDBELL RINGERS OF JAPAN (HRJ), HOSTS OF THE 14TH SYMPOSIUM. All forms, fees (except a small administrative fee from AGEHR), cancellation policies, payment deadlines, etc. are set by HRJ. Any exceptions to these policies by AGEHR are NOT possible. Directors, please be sure to share these policies and deadlines with those in your group. General Information
Echoes for Peace...
We believe that through handbells, each individual's hopes for peace combine to become one meaningful message that can be delivered to many around the world. The 14th International Handbell Symposium will be held in Japan in the summer of 2010. Let us join our hearts together with ringers from around the world in Osaka to ring the song of peace.

Program of Events
Massed Ringing Rehearsals
There will be seven massed ringing peices from the six member guilds of the International Handbell Committee including one piece selected from the composition contest. The seven pieces will be featured at the final concert scheduled in the afternoon of August 7th. The rehearsals will take place in the Event Hall of the Grand Cube Osaka

"Echoes from Japan" and "Echoes for Peace" will be available from Jeffers Handbell Supply, Inc.
Fun Night
In the evening of August 3rd, there will be a short field trip to the Kacho-en, a flower and bird garden, where all participants will be able to meet and "get-to-know" each other while enjoying dinner together. It will be a wonderful and perfect moment to start this exciting international event.
International Solo Concerts
These concerts will provide single choirs and teams the opportunity to perform one selection on their own. Please indicate if you wish to participate on your registration form.
Workshops and Culture Classes
A variety of classes with instructors, clinicians and directors from all over the world will be offered with a technical and/or culturaltheme. Detailed information about classes will be announced soon.
Kyoto Sightseeing Tour
There will be a sightseeing tour to Kyoto, one of the most historical cities in Japan. All participants wil take the bus to Kyoto and enjoy the beauty of this old city that represents Japan.
Final Concert
The final concert will be held the afternoon of August 7, at the Main Hall with 2000 guests in the audience. Massed ringing will be performed in two groups.
RegistratioN
THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION HAS PASSED. WE CAN ACCEPT NO FURTHER REGISTRATION AT THIS TIME.
Registrants from AGEHR must submit all registration forms and payments through the AGEHR national office. Please submit one registration form per choir.
Fee: $875.00US (includes a $25 surcharge to AGEHR for administrative expenses and potential adjustments to exchange rates)
Registration includes:
- Attendance at all Symposium events
- Symposium Program Book
- Symposium T-Shirt
- Event Pin
- Tote Bag
- Materials used in classes (other than music)
- All lunches from August 4-August 7
- All dinners from August 3-August 7
- Transportation to and from Kacho-en (August 3)
- Transportation to and from Kyoto (August 5)
Registration does not include:
- Hotel accommodations
- Transportation between airport and hotel
- Massed ringing music
- Music for classes
- Breakfasts
- Insurance
- Group photo
- Foam
Registration Process & Deadlines:
- If you will be staying at the Rihga Royal Hotel, event registration and hotel reservations are all handled onthe Event Registration Form
- If you prefer to stay at a different hotel, you will need to also submit the Hotel Accommodation Application Form
- Event Registration Forms and deposit are due in the AGEHR office no later than December 1, 2009
- Hotel Accommodation Applications (ONLY NEEDED IF NOT STAYING AT THE RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL) are due to JTB Corp. by July 2, 2010 (see form for contact information and further instruction)
- Final payment of all fees is due by April 1, 2010
Cancellation Policies:
You may cancel your registration at any time but with the following penalties:
- Before April 30, 2010 - all but your deposit will be refunded
- After April 30, 2010 - no refunds
- Under no circumstances will the deposit be refunded on a registration has been accepted and processed
Lodging
The primary event hotel is the Rihga Royal Hotel which is connected to the Grand Cube Osaka. RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka takes pride in being among the largest hotels in Japan. A - Single Room - 10,500 yen (approximately $117.00 US)
B - Double Room - 9,500 yen (approximately $106.00 US)
C - Triple Room - 7.500 yen (approximately $84.00 US)
