About Orlando, Florida
Orlando is a great place for people of all ages to have fun! As one of the fastest growing
areas in the United States, Orlando celebrates many cultures and offers much to do. Outside of the three major theme parks (Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld),
there are also water parks, smaller theme parks, and great shopping. Orlando is in the center of Florida, about one hour from the east coast and less than two hours from the west coast.
The state of Florida is known for beautiful beaches, sunshine, and golf courses. There are also many educational and historical features. For example, St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. Amelia Island hosts the oldest lighthouse in Florida. Shelling (finding seashells) is a great activity on the beaches of the west coast, in places like Sanibel Island or St. Petersburg Beach.
The Everglades is the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. You can also visit Busch Gardens in Tampa, Cypress Gardens Adventure Park in Winter Haven, or the Bok Singing Tower and Gardens, a beautiful carillon located in Lake Wales. NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is located in Cape Canaveral and has a brand new interactive exhibit of the International Space Station. In Florida, you can swim with the manatees or fly into space—your choice!
